When I had coneflowers, there were always bees of some sort on them when they bloomed, till the last year. That year I think I saw two insects on them, no butterflies. Just nothing. That was in 2022. This shot if from 2013.
Gorgeous closeup! Insects are slowly disappearing. Remember when you would drive on interstates and bugs would smash on the windshield? They don't do that anymore, there are not as many.
What an attractive workplace. Yesterday I wrote about the lack of butterflies this year, today it's official; I heard on the radio that a butterfly conservation group has reported far less sightings this summer.
this is a WOW photo for sure! we have no butterflies, no bees,no birds, they are all gone. we always had a flock of ibis in our yard, they have disappeared for about 3 months now and the park we take beau to is a wildlife preserve, all of the above things I mentioned are not there. none of the predator birds are there,no long legged herons. its scary
That’s a beautiful capture. I found another bee sleeping on a flower yesterday but my picture was way too blurry. I would be a happy camper to get something like this. Have a great day Rose! https://www.anenglishgirlrambles2016.blogspot.com
This is a fabulous macro image of the bee and the coneflower. I have a lot of coneflowers in my yard. I enjoy watching the bees. Sadly, I think that I only saw 2 butterflies this year. But there were lots of bees. A beautiful composition.

I love the coneflowers, some birds will come and eat the seeds if they are not deadheaded. Take care, have a great day!

Ooooo, that's pretty. It's nice that you've saved pictures from back then. I lost many of my photo files and had to create more pictures.
(I think you meant to say.... this shot is from 2013. Just wanted to mention that, as your posts are wonderful).
