From along the road

I would love to be able to find this barn again, but have no idea where it is at, other than I think it is south and west of here, I think in Illinois. It was taken probably 2 or 3 years ago at least...I wish I had taken some close-up views of it. I really like the top and I like the American flag above the door.

I am linking this to Tricia's Barn Charm when it opens...please join with a barn of your own if you have one.

ETA: Pay attention to Don's comment...he found this barn and it is in Indiana, not Illinois...I really thought it was in Illinois, but apparently I was wrong. We have been in the area where this one is one time, maybe two.

Love, love, love round barns! (Maybe that's why I live in a 9-sided house!) :)

I've only seen a few round barns...This one looks in great shape. The owners have to be using it.

That's an interesting barn. I looks like it's wearing a helmet. Nice capture.

Great find, even if you have lost it since! One of these days you'll be driving down a road and there it will be.

It's a wonderful barn, Rose. I hate it when I want to find a photogenic subject again but only have a vague remembrance of where it is!

Hi Rose:
I did some looking and came up with one that looks very much like your barn...only pretty weathered:
In this long Indiana list of barns:
http://www.dalejtravis.com/rblist/rbin.htm
Go down the long list to In36-03

SE of Medora, Driftwood Township. IN235 E. 3.7 miles from jct with Sparksville Rd. in Medora, S. on IN135 1.75 miles to the barn on the W. side of the road at 5800 IN135. Howard L. Burcham, true round, white vertical siding, 3-pitch roof, windowed cupola, good condition.

This is a treasure! It looks like it should go with the house in your previous post. :)

I guess you will have to scouting out to find this again. I love the round barns---one doesn't see them very often.
Great shot too. MB

Another round barn! Very cool. And it's a wonderful photo, Rose; so clean and sharp with great colors. Glad you found out which state it is in...now maybe you can go back and get some close-ups!

Very nice capture of this elusive round barn. How wonderfully the green roof coordinates with the beautiful green scenery.

Ok, now how cool is that that he found your barn?! Awesome! I wonder if he could do that w/ an old run down mill I'm looking for around here?!!! Fantastic find, Rose... love it! =)

Hi Rose,

This is a wonderful find! I remember seeing a round barn (or two) when I was a child and my parents pointed them out from the road during our frequent road trips.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Your post linked me back here to see yours.

Very best,
Lois

Hi rose, thanks for your comments on my Ritzville collage. If you enlarge the pic you will see a tunnel at the far end of the railroad pic. It turns a corner there and keeps on going all the way to Canada. MB

Hey again,
The building with the turret is the Gritman building built around the turn of the century. It was built and owned by Ritzville's first druggist--Mr. Gritman who died at age 72 in 1942. (I think--if I remember my history right). It is a very interesting building. MB

We don't see round barns very often. This is a neat barn from top to bottom. I, too, like that flag.

Great round barn! I hope you find it again some day. You need to carry a notebook to jot down where all the neat barns are that you see! LOL You see so many good ones that my mind would be a mess trying to sort them all out.
