I am not sure what this is...it was about 6-8 inches tall, and there was lots of it near the swamp area. I feel like I know but for the life of me I cannot think what it is.
And this was among some of those plants....
Edited to add: Furry Gnome has identified this as Horsetails, the top photo being the male frond; the second is the female. Thank you so much, Furry.

Those are Horsetails, relared terns. The first picture is the male frond; the second is the female. It carries the spores. There are several varieties, but onle a few with branches like these.
I've never been good at identifying plants so I'm no help but looks like you've got your answer in the comment above
Yes, we have had horesetail. But never did see this weird bloom.
I want to say that I've seen plants like that around here.I don't think I have ever had a name for it though.

it really is a pretty plant, both genders, and I have never seen it or heard the name either..
The horse tails are very interesting. The pair make an interesting composition.
