Hope this brings a smile to your face....

You can click to enlarge.  I have posted this before...but every time I see it I get tickled.  My brother says he hunts this photo every now and then  and laughs about it.  This is not photo-shopped...other than I cropped it and I resized the photo.  I did not know I had captured the upside down goose till I downloaded the photos.

I don't know what was wrong...they would come in to land on this little strip pit, and about the time they would start to land it was like they hit the brakes hard...like something startled them or scared them, they would pull up and would then circle back around and start to land again, only to do the same thing again.   I don't remember how many times they did this. Finally they just regrouped and flew off....  I would think if something scared them they would not have tried landing again and again.

How strange! And this picture is one in a million! Wonder if he had a balance disorder?

A real daredevil, for sure! I am fairly sure none of our geese have such skill!

Wow, what a capture. You don't see a bird flying upside down every day. As a matter of fact I can't say that I have ever seen one flying upside down.

In any case it's great that you have this unusual flight on record. A fine shot.

my first ever viewing of an upside-down goose or any bird for that matter. I wonder if his name is Top Gun? maybe there was a predator on the ground? it is very odd...

Oh, that silly goose, what is he doing? To be able to fly like that is a wondrous thing.

I hope you are doing Ok, Rose. I had to stand in line for about an hour and a half outside Target this morning just to get toilet paper. No fun.

i love your description of the games that they were playing landing and taking off again... the goose flying upside down shows how agile it can bee Rose... he likely saw a fighter doing that and said to himself... i can do that too:D

That is a pretty special capture.

I've seen that! They put the brakes on and just seem to fall in any old direction the last ten feet to the water.
