Bringing home the bacon....I mean cicado.


It worked and worked....


it was trying to take it under the porch.  It did not succeed.  But not for lack of effort.

This is amazing!!! I have seen the cicadas and I have seen the cicada killers we have them all the time but I have never seen one trying to take one home with him. These are awesome photos

These are spectacular close up images of this poor cicada losing the battle. I feel sorry for them. They don't even eat after for the short term that they have reached maturity and are flying about. A great series!

That first picture is amazing, Rose. Nel told me that she used to hear the Cicadas in her back yard all the time in Georgia. They're so unusual looking, aren't they?
