ID?

I have been going to try to identify this but have not taken the time to yet.  So I hope someone can tell me in their comments.  It isn't just a female House Sparrow, is it?

Edited to add:

thanks Ginny, Anni, and Yamini for identifying this as the Chipping Sparrow.

It is said that there is very little difference between a sparrow and a finch!! But somehow, this looks like a sparrow!!!

I'm no bird expert, but this does look like the birds we see around the apartment. I assume they are sparrows.

It looks like our local sparrows but I dare not confirm because I know very little about birds.

I've never been good at identifying birds so I'm no help.

Lovely capture and its feather on the bird make certain it's from a sparrow family.

I'm no bird expert, but this is a pretty little bird, whatever it is, and nice photos.

I also agree that it is a Chipping Sparrow. There are so many different types of sparrows, it is hard sometimes identify them. These are wonderful close up pictures!

What a sweet little bird. It looks pretty clear when you cropped it. I love the picture of the snow on the ground. But he must be so cold. : )
