Another plant commonly found in the eastern woods. I also have some of these in my yard. In a shady corner up against our house. Our daughters dug up Mayapple roots, some Jack in the pulpit roots, and some trillium....and lets not forget Bluebells. This blossom is from the wild, though.

I never heard of Mayapple, neither has Phil! And is that the tiny apple in the center? It will grow into a regular sized apple?

this is my first time hearing or seeing Mayapple... in the center it looks like a tiny apple. I wonder if that is how it got the name. as in someone saw it and said oh look, that may be an apple. ha ha… love it
