FYI, this house is gone now...
but as far as I know, the barn is still standing.
I used to go by there fairly often, but now am lucky if we ramble by it once a year.

Yes, those old buildings don't stand forever.
I like the color photo of the barn.
The little bridge is adorable! This is a rare case where the barn is in much better shape than the house was!

I always think the black and white somehow exudes the solemnity of 'dying' buildings (or plants). They both fascinate and sadden. YAM xx

How sad to see a house like this. It makes me wonder about what it looked like new and about the people who lived there.

NJ has but one covered bridge left and happily not far from me. Bucks COunty PA, though has many covered bridges, also close to where I live. I like the timeless b7w treatment of the house and barn
Somehow I'm not surprised that the old house has gone now. Covered bridges are something which doesn't exist on this side of the Atlantic.

Splendid tones and contrasts in the B&W compositions! I love the framing of the barn with the dynamic sky as a backdrop.
The barn looks to be in good shape. I love covered bridges. I shot all of them in Oregon several years ago.
Good post. I wish I had taken more photos of homes and businesses in our area. So many structures were eradicated by Hurricane Katrina, and now, years later, I cannot always remember "what used to be there." My circumstances don't favor my documenting such things now, so I am doubly enjoying your efforts!
I find that old run down houses have a certain charm and I like to photograph them. I always wonder who lived there and where did they go. Especially farm houses. Wonderful images.
The covered bridge is lovely. I hate that the house is gone. I guess it would have been to costly to repair it.
