I am thinking this is a Buttercup, but don't know for sure....can anyone confirm or tell me what it is? There used to be flowers I seen as a kid that we called buttercups, but this is a lot bigger than they were.

It could be a buttercup but the center looks different and it looks bigger than a buttercup. Whatever it is, it is lovely!

I am not sure because the center looks different from the buttercups I have in my garden. Beautiful yellow flower.

Oh how beautiful Rose! The color yellow is one of my most favorites and when you mentioned Buttercup, I suddenly remembered my late Mom. We both love that song so much and she would ask me to start the song at the karaoke and before the chorus she'll grab the mic and sing it herself. Oh I miss my Mom, 9 years have passed but I will always miss her forever.
It's yellow, it's beautiful, and doesn't matter what it is. it brings joy when looked at.

You are right Rose. It is a kind of butter cup that grows wild all through the year ,It is calld Eranthis ( Winter Aconite)

By any name this is a fine blossom. Nice close up withj detail and rich color.
Resembles a buttercup but I think buttercups have more of a cup shape to them. When we were kids we used to hold them under our chins to see if we liked butter. :)
I used my Plant ID app, took a picture of your picture and it tells me it is a Buttercup or Ranunculus. it sure is pretty.
