At long last, an actual new photo, taken on March 9, 2022. (It still feels strange to type 2022.) I think it was a Red-tailed hawk. It sure was a big one.

He is a handsome one. Years ago I spotted some kind of hawk up in a tree in my back yard. At first I didn't know what it was. It sat perfectly still and was there for quite a while. Their patience amazes me
