I love this poem! And yes, this is sad.
So sad to see, though no doubt the family moved on to more spacious accommodation.
I think almost any abandoned building is sad, but houses more than others.
beautiful poem and the house does truly look sad... only in America do we abandon buildings, unlike Europe that just keeps repairing and rebuilding them. this one looks past redemption now
The lines from that poem say it perfectly. When I see a house like this it always makes me daydream about what it looked like when it was lived in and who the people were that lived there.

Perfect poem for this awesome photo. My childhood home is still standing and when I see it I am sad. It is a business now and not very well taken care of. I think of all the memories of folks that are no longer with me.
This one seems to be way beyond saving.
A sad poem. If only that house could talk and tell it's story of better days.
