Wings and things....

Roger and I drove through the strip pits...

about the only things moving were dragonflies.

Smile!

They were very cooperative tonight but I sure had trouble holding steady, plus getting my little P&S camera to focus on them and not something else.

We also saw a few monarchs here and there, but this was the only lucky shot I got...

Also saw this:

We did see a hawk....but did not get a good look at it.  It was flying just about a yard above the ground....which made me wonder if it was a Northern Harrier.

I could not resist a pic of Bird's Foot Trefoil....I think it is one of the pretties little flowers.

Your dragonflies are AMAZING!!!! Full of miracles like striped wings and green faces. I have never seen the Trefoil, would love to actually see the real thing.

Wonderful photos. The dragonflies always make me think of aliens...lol I have never been able to get a picture of a butterfly. When I see them they never hold still long enough for me to even get the camera focused. That duck is so cute and the flower is beautiful.

Dragonflies appear so graceful as they seem to defy gravity as they hold onto the twig with little effort. An eye-catching flower that I have never seen before. Beautiful color in the monarch as well.

Beautiful series of shot. The dragonflies are excellent. The full open wings of the monarch made for a beautiful shot. Well done.

Great photos of the dragonflies. I've been trying to photograph them for a couple of weeks now but found them particularly uncooperative models. Maybe I should try in the evenings.

The things you see at the strip pits, Rose. What a beautiful butterfly. I always love your dragonfly photos. And what a precious duck picture. It looks like a baby.

*picture 3 of the dragonfly really looks like he has a little face.

When I saw the first dragonfly photo in the Blogger Reading List entry, I though you had captured some individual with a bizarre helmet and flying an ultra-light contraption. I have got to get some glasses for computer vision correction. But the photos are awesome without an ultra-light!
